Materials & Finishes
Material choice determines structure, surface behavior and final appearance. Our picture frames, drawing boards, easels and display products use material systems selected for the specific product format, including solid wood, PS profiles, cotton canvas, wood-based boards, acrylic components, plastics and metal parts.
Material Selection Starts With Product Function
A decorative photo frame, a stretched canvas, a classroom drawing board and a studio easel place different demands on the substrate. Material selection is therefore tied to structure, surface compatibility and the finished product's handling environment.
Structural Stability
Load-bearing and frame geometry are matched with rigid substrates such as kiln-dried pine, wood-based boards or reinforced plastic structures, depending on the product design.
Surface Compatibility
Cotton canvas, PS profiles and printable surfaces are paired with the coating, printing or decorative process intended for that product rather than treated as interchangeable bases.
Handling & Display
Weight, moisture exposure, repeated handling and display format influence whether a product uses wood, PS, magnetic backing, acrylic, metal or plastic components.
Wood, PS and Clear or Metal Components
The frame substrate is selected around profile shape, rigidity, weight and the required visual language. Current Meihe product lines use several distinct frame-material routes rather than one material across every category.
Kiln-Dried Pine
Used in solid-wood easels and selected canvas-frame structures where straight grain, joint holding and dimensional stability are required.
High-Density PS Profiles
Used in decorative frame designs that need lower weight, moisture resistance and repeatable wood-grain, solid-color or distressed visual treatments.
Acrylic, Metal & Plastic Components
Used across clear-frame, slim-profile, magnetic and easel formats when transparency, reduced profile weight or integrated hardware is part of the design.

Cotton Canvas With Rigid or Magnetic Backing Options
Meihe's drawing-board and canvas-frame ranges use cotton canvas as the working surface, while the backing structure changes according to thickness, mounting method and end use.
100% Cotton Canvas
Used on current canvas drawing boards and selected canvas-frame products for a woven painting surface compatible with printed outlines and painted artwork.
Wood-Based Board Support
Provides a flat panel format for drawing boards. Plain Canvas Drawing Board models use an anti-seepage surface treatment to control paint penetration.
280 g Cotton Canvas + Soft Magnetic Back
This construction is used on the Canvas-front Magnetic Drawing Board, combining a textile painting face with a 0.4 cm magnetic panel format.
Printing & Foil Application
Our surface processes cover artwork on canvas, single-color printing on magnetic frame borders and foil stamping on decorative canvas and frame profiles.
Water-Based Frame Printing
Flexible magnetic poster frames use water-based ink for single-color printing on the frame border. Logos and decorative motifs are printed around the central poster opening.
Canvas Artwork Printing
Full-color artwork is printed directly on the cotton face of the Color Printed Canvas Drawing Board. This printing format also accommodates designs on dark canvas bases.
Hot-Foil Stamping
The DIY Gold Canvas Painting Frame uses hot stamping to apply metal foil to the canvas face. On gold-finished PS photo frames, foil is applied to the outer profile rather than the picture insert.

Painting, Framing & Changeable Displays
Paintable boards provide a surface for creating artwork, conventional frames present finished images, and magnetic displays allow content to be replaced in place.

Classroom Painting & Craft Kits
Blank boards provide an open surface for drawing practice, while preprinted designs guide themed coloring activities. Canvas boards paired with paint and brushes form activity sets for classroom projects and take-home crafts.

Home & Gift Photo Displays
Decorative photo frames hold photographs and prints behind a transparent cover. Rear turn-buttons provide access to the insert, and dual-use models support both shelf placement and wall hanging.

Retail Posters & Office Notices
Magnetic poster frames mount on magnet-receptive metal panels and cabinet fronts. Lifting the frame releases the insert, allowing promotions and notices to be changed without adhesive or holes in the paper.
