Principle
The board contains dark magnetic powder. When a magnetic pen is drawn across it, the powder is attracted to the white translucent board, making the text visible. Erasing it works the opposite way. Fine magnetic powder adheres to the plastic drawing board via electrostatic force, and the board's inner surface has a mesh to help the powder stay in place. However, if a magnet is used on the back, the powder will still be attracted.
